"You Are No Longer A Woman"

She'd received the letter a few weeks ago. Since then less and less people talked to her. It was like they saw straight through her. She was slowly becoming a ghost. One of the "No Ones". The forgotten people, mainly forgotten women who didn't fit in. She remember the yellow envelope sliding through her letterbox in her door. How it almost flew across the floor and landed in front of her feet just as she was getting dressed for work. Her heart had started pounding. She knew what the envelope meant. They were onto her for good now. With shaky hands she'd opened it. "Dear Miss Sal. We have observed several types of abnormal behaviour from you over the course of the past 6 months. These unusual activities, or lack of certain activities, are documented in Appendix B and C along with the time and dates for each activity and/or behaviour. We have received a few complaints (See Appendix A) and have learned you refuse to wear makeup which is against one of our fundamental laws. We regret to inform you that you are no longer a woman. Your new status has been registered and society has with immediate effect started viewing you as a "No One." We have taken the liberty to put a few brochures on camps where you can re-earn your old status, should you wish to do so. Kind regards, The Female Management." She had burned the letter in anger. She wasn't going to let them decide how to look, what to wear, how to talk or how to act. She knew it was a tough challenge but she couldn't abandon her sisters in this fight. She had to do what was right even if it meant being forgotten or tossed aside.
