The little bell rang delightfully as Emily opened the door to the little art shop. Decorations in all the colours of the rainbow hang from various places in the ceiling. Some were tiny airplanes, some were crocheted air balloons and others were just fluffy colourful balls of yarn. Emily smiled at the woman at the counter. The woman introduced herself as Karen. Karen had long curly grey hair and red glasses on. She looked really welcoming and lovely to be around. Some calm Italian music was playing and the shop smelled rosy. "Are you looking for anything in particular?" Karen asked Emily. "Yeah, I'm looking for a painting to hang above my bed." Emily answered and rearranged her bag on her shoulder. "Come with me. I have a room out back with paintings made by local artists." "Sounds lovely" Emily said and waited for Karen to lead the way. Once they entered the back room with all the lovely paintings Karen turned around and asked: "So what kind of painting are you looking for?" "Oh, I was thinking something more simplistic really. Something that makes you feel calm and stable, in a way." Emily said whil turning her attention to the colourful paintings on the back wall. "Well, then I think you should have a look over here on the right hand wall. I try to organize them according to mood, you know. These are very much about straight lines or a calm ocean contrary to the ones you're looking at right now..." Karen said carefully. Emily didn't take her eyes off a big painting with loads of shapes and colours. "Mhmm, sounds good. Tell me more." Emily said distracted. "If you really want a painting that brings you peace I think this is a good one..." Karen said and pointed at a painting picturing a calm, blue lake. "But now you're taking down the dramatic one..." Karen said and looked at Emily who had taken the big painting off the wall and looked at it with it in her hands. "Ehm, I thought you wanted something calm." Karen said carefully. Emily looked at her and said angrily: "Well, I like THIS ONE, KAREN." Karen looked at the young woman before her, surprised by her strong reaction. "Sure. Let's wrap it up for you." Karen said and walked back to the counter, Emily following her with the dramatic painting. 'Kids these days.' Karen thought.
