Heartbroken at Tønder Festival.
In an ocean of ergonomically correct shoes and grey-haired heads my heart has to heal. Why not drown your sorrows in drugs at a techno festival? Drink so hard until I'm out of order? Throw my feelings away and wake up Monday with a liver that is arguing with my heart over who is more broken.
Because Tønder is a hug. Tønder plays songs for you that confront you. Songs about that you can either choose to smile or else you might die. Or songs about a new love that will come, but that you're not ready for yet, darling. Tønder is a festival where you can heal in a safe space. Tønder is a relaxed atmosphere with enough space for a young woman to hide and cry when the world comes crashing in after having had that one glass of wine too many. Tønder is friendly nods and welcoming smiles. It's little laughs, that help you move on. Little things that push you towards that smile you have to remember to have so you don't die.
