The little elf crossed the street when a big truck came over the hill. He hadn't seen it and the elf had to hurl himself to the side of the road in order to not get hit. His heart was pounding hard in his chest as he lay on the side of the road in the grass looking up at the stars. His elbow hurt and his back too. He lay there for a while and just tried to gather his thoughts. Suddenly a raven landed next to him. It looked at him with its pitch black eyes and asked if he was alright, because he'd taken quite a tumble. "Luckily, the driver didn't notice you." the raven said. "Yeah." the elf said, still not moving. He sat up and the raven jumped around him and stood in front of him. "Do you need a ride home?" the raven asked and tilted its head. "Why would I trust a raven?" the elf said. "Good call." the raven said and before the elf knew it he was snatched up between the raven's claws, flying high over the mountains and away from everything he knew.
