The woman stood frozen in the store. "So what will it be?" the guy at the cash register asked her. "Ehm, the blue package, please." she said gingerly. "Are you sure?" he said and continued: "I mean, a woman your age." "What age do you think I am?" she asked, having found her voice again. "Ehm, it's not my place to say." the young man said. "Exactly, it's not. Now just give me the blue package, please." she said and stepped closer to the young man. An older man entered the store. "And quickly, please." she said and looked out the corner of her eye to keep an eye on the old man. "Sure. I'm sorry." the young man said and took the blue package and put it on the counter. "Thank you." she almost whispered but as she grabbed it to put it in her bag some of the content flew out of the package and slid along on the floor and landed in front of the old man. The woman gasped from embarrassment. "Fuck." she whispered under her breath as the old man picked it up. "Are these yours, ma'am?" he asked and smiled. "Ehm..." she said and approached the old man. He held them out for her to take them. "A woman your age, huh." he said and winked at her. "That's bold." he continued. She just stood there not knowing what to say. The young man cleared his throat. "You're gonna have to pay for them still." he said. "Uhm, yeah. Of course. Yeah, sure." she said. She was sure she was blushing. She gave a little nod to the old man who started browsing some shelves. "Card or cash?" the young man asked. "Ehm. Cash. Cash, please." she said and found the money for him. "Do you want the receipt?" the young man asked. "Oh god no." it burst out of her. The old man chuckled. She couldn't figure out whether it was for himself or if he was laughing at her. "Goodbye." she said as the shoved the blue package deep into her purse and rushed out of the shop.
