He was an all or nothing guy. She was a 50 percent girl. He was always fully invested. She always had one foot out the door. They met on a starry night in a cold place. The guy asked her if she wanted to go for a walk with him. She wasn't sure, but he convinced her and off they went. She didn't walk as fast as him and halfway she sat down. He encouraged her to keep going but she didn't want to and they agreed to meet the next day instead. He finished the walk. The next morning they met halfway between where they were staying. The two kept dating and one day they felt ready to move in together. She wanted to rent, he wanted to buy something. They decided to live in a doublehouse. He owned one part of it and she rented the other. People found them weird. How could he be with someone who had one foot out the door? He said he couldn't be without her, so if 50% was all he would get, then that was what he had to deal with.
