'It's starting to get bittersweet again', she thought. She was past the halfway mark. Knowing she was leaving soon again made everything shine a little brighter. She had started to appreciate the city a lot more. The colourful buildings, the tiny park in the town square, the feeling of new energy people gave off as they crawled out of their winter caves. She was happy she was leaving because she didn't want to stay, but she was also happy to be there. It was a peculiar state of mind that for some was hard to understand. She'd find new streets to walk home, she'd take her bike and go exploring parts of the city she hadn't bothered seeing before. She'd pick up the phone and call friends to arrange to see them. She started using her time more efficiently, because she knew time was running out. It was going to be difficult to leave, it always was. But it was who she was. It was in her nature to never stay too long. Mainly because of her gambling problem and having to pick up new identities to continue her addiction but that was an entirely different story.
