If You Had To Choose A Star

"If you had to choose a star to live on, which one would you choose?" the little red haired girl asked her friend. "That's a really weird question, they all look the same, Lou." the blonde boy answered and put his hands under his head for support. "No, it's not. And they're not all the same, Ben." Lou snapped back. "I didn't say they were. I just said they all looked the same. So how would I be able to choose?" Ben asked and turned his head to look at Lou. She kept looking at the stars. Her jaw tense. She was angry with him. He loved how quickly he could make her angry. "You'd use your imagination, Ben." Lou answered and kicked his ankle with her left foot. "Ouch." Ben joked. "Ha.ha. Just pick one, stupid." Lou said. "Hmm. How about our sun? Can I choose that one?" Ben asked. "I suppose so. But you know that one so well. Why would you go there?" Lou asked and looked at Ben who was now looking at the stars again. "Hmm... Maybe because it's closer to here. To home." Ben said thoughtfully. "But if you could go anywhere in the galaxy, you would stay near here?" Lou asked. Ben quickly looked Lou in the eyes: "Wait, I thought we were picking stars, not galaxies??" "Shut up." Lou said and kicked Ben again. Ben giggled. "I'm gonna report you if you keep bruising my ankles like that. I need them for soccer practise tomorrow." "Blah, blah, soccer, blah." Lou teased and looked up at the stars twinkling above them: "I think the question was rather then - why would you stay if you could go?" "I guess I like it here." Ben answered calmly. "But... there's so much more to see," Lou said confused: "Wouldn't you want to explore? What if somebody paid for all of it? Would you still stay?" "Who would take care of my dog, if I went galaxy-shopping?" Ben asked and smiled at Lou. "You could take him with you. In this scenario you could." Lou said and turned around to lay on her side and looked at Ben. "Nah, Lou. I know where you're going with this. I just don't have that same urge as you. I'm fine here in my own little part of this particular galaxy. I don't need more." Ben said and smiled at Lou's perplexed look.
