High Hopes

Once upon there was a man with highest hopes that the world had ever seen. His hopes were higher than the highest mountain ranges. He stood on top of his high hopes but refused to admit how high they were. As the wind blew cold air on the top he simply put on another coat and grunted like a grumpy old man. Some of the world's bravest and most skilled mountain climbers attempted to climb the man's high hopes. But none of them ever succeeded. Some days the man slid down his high hopes, but he stubbornly climbed his way back up. People wondered why he stayed up there, why he didn't just slide all the way down to where they were. But the man knew he needed to stay up there. His heart told him to. And maybe, just maybe, some day somebody would join him up there.
