Anna's Last Walk

It was the last walk Anna would ever take. She had decided earlier that morning that the world didn't deserve her and from now on she'd shut her doors and order food online. She was sick and tired of being disappointed by people over and over again. She'd put her trust in so many people over the years and her heart was weary now. There was nothing she could do but to let it rest until her days on this earth were done. She didn't need close relations, she tried to convince herself. She didn't need to rollercoaster of getting emotionally involved with somebody else, because humans were unpredictable. She didn't want to gamble her feelings away anymore. No more romances, no more friendships. It was over. She walked up the hill and sat down on her favourite bench. She was going to miss this bench. She'd thought many, many thoughts on this bench while looking out over the green hills. She felt a sadness in her heart by the thought of seeing all of these things for the last time. Maybe, in a few years, she could muster the strength to go for another walk. This didn't absolutely have to be the last one. But as she thought that to herself her heart sighed and Anna closed her eyes for a moment, never to open them again.
