A Conversation Between Mother and Daughter

"Why are men stupid, mother?" the teenage daughter asked.

Her mother came over from the kitchen and joined her daughter at the kitchen table.

"Why do you think men are stupid?" the mother asked.

"Because they are. It's like sometimes they don't think at all. They just do or say stupid things." the daughter explained.

"Why do you find those things stupid?" the mother asked.

"Because they hurt me or frustrate me." the daughter explained and continued: "Listen, mother. I didn't ask you because I wanted to be psychoanalyzed. I just wanted a straight answer."

"I can't give you that. Because believe it or not, men are human too, and they are as complex as you and I even though sometimes it does really seem like they're daft as doors." the mother said.
