"This book has no ending." she said and put it on the counter. "What do you mean? A book can't have no ending." he answered. "Don't you know what books you're selling?" she asked and pushed the book towards him. "Do you mean it's a never ending story line or what?" he asked and picked up the book and examined it. "What I mean, is that it doesn't have an ending." she said and looked him in the eyes and continued "I've read millions of books, well not millions, but many books,". She gently took the book from him and flipped through the pages: "and this one has no ending. All the others I could either predict how it would end or it would have a surprising twist and it would end all differently than I thought, but it would have an ending nonetheless. This one... Anything could happen. It just doesn't end." "Where did you find it?" he asked. "On the shelf over there below the blue books." she said and pointed. He took the book again and looked at it. "I don't recognise the author. I'm not sure I've ever ordered this book. Was it the last one?" he asked and started plotting in the name of the author into his computer. "It was the only one of its kind." she answered. "Look, I just want answers." she continued. "I'm afraid I can't find the book in our system. Somebody must've left it there. I can't think of any other explanation. Did it scan when you bought it?" he asked and tried to scan it. The computer made a sound indicating the book could not be found. "It sure did. I paid 7.99 for it. Cash though." she answered. "Do you want to have your money back or what were you thinking?" he asked. She put her hand on the book and slid the book back towards herself on the counter. "No, it's just... I've never read any book like it. I was hoping you could give me answers, since you were selling it. It's just weird. I mean, with the no ending and all. Everything has to end somehow, right?" she asked, still looking at the book. "Maybe not everything." he said and smiled.
